Asmita is an initiative by WE4YOU, created to empower girls and young women with disabilities by promoting menstrual health awareness, hygiene education, and product accessibility.

Menstruation is natural, but for many girls with disabilities, it comes with unique challenges—from lack of understanding to limited access to suitable menstrual products. Asmita addresses these barriers with sensitivity, inclusion, and practical solutions.

What Asmita Offers:

Menstrual Health Education: Simple, inclusive, and accessible sessions that explain the menstrual cycle, bodily changes,
and self-care in the special schools in the rural belts of Odisha.

Hygiene & Dignity Training:

Focused guidance on maintaining cleanliness and personal care during menstruation, tailored to various physical and cognitive needs.

A Basket of Menstrual Product Choices:

From sanitary pads to menstrual cups and reusable cloth pads—Asmita ensures any girl is allowed choose what’s right for them, safely and confidently.

Supportive Ecosystem

We involve families, caregivers, and educators to create an environment free of stigma and discomfort, replacing shame with support.
